  • All participants must check-in at Race HQ from 6.00am Saturday and Sunday prior to racing.  Each individual team member must sign-in prior to competing.
  • All equipment, including bikes, helmets, canoes, paddles and life jackets will need to be dropped off prior to the event briefing.
  • After registration the remaining time is spent preparing and warming up. A word of advice… “Know the course and transition logistics well!!…”
  • Volunteers - you will need to make contact with your Stage Manager to ensure that you receive any necessary equipment.

EVENT BRIEFING

  • A Safety & Event Briefing will occur before the event start and prior to the opening of each individual stage. All competitors MUST attend this briefing as it cover important information including:
  • Changes to the course
  • All the things you need to know to stay safe throughout the event.
  • Event specific information

The race will start immediately when the Event Briefing is finished.

RACE HQ

The Race HQ will be located at the Pinnacle Hotel which not only facilitates a fantastic spectacle for spectators, but a convenient central transition zone for Competitors. Stage 1A will commence on the Mountain Bike from the corner of Pinnacle-Septimus Road (loading ramp) at the base of Captain's Crossing.  Stage 2 will is at Teemburra Dam for the kayak, prior to Stage 1B Mountain Bike rolling back to the "Pub Hub". Competitors will begin the Stage 3 Trail run down Cattle Creek via Gargett before returning back to the Hub where they transition to their Road Bikes for the Final Stage (see maps).

Please note:  Stage 1 start line is from the Loading Ramp at the bottom of the Captains Crossing Road (bend in Pinnacle-Septimus Road), Mia Mia State Forest.  Competitors are RESPONSIBLE for getting themselves to the start line.  We highly recommend 'rolling' from Race HQ to the start line as there is no transport available to pick up vehicles after finishing.  Rolling down to the start line is a good little warm-up prior to start of the race as competitors will encounter a climb straight up!

TRANSITION AREAS

A Transition Area is where you move from one Stage to another (ie Mountain Biking to Canoe/Kayak etc).
There are 2 transition areas on the course, in 2 different locations. Transition Areas are managed by volunteers. Transition areas have communication with the Race HQ.

When you arrive at Transition, it is important that solo competitors and teams Check In & Out. Ensure that you give your details to officials when you arrive, and before you leave. To assist officials, tell them your team number and name as you approach the table.

Although every effort is made to avoid delays, it is possible you may have to queue at a transition area. Take this in your stride and be patient. Event officials are working hard to ensure you are on your way as quickly as possible.

PROGRESSIVE CLOSING TIMES

Progressive closing times for locations along the event route will be noted. If the Participant falls behind these closing times they shall either board the Support Vehicle for transportation to the next stage.

THE FINISH

When you cross the finish line please ensure the following:
You and your team look awesome for the Finish Photo!

Enjoy the festivities and prize giving, and don’t forget to celebrate and share your war stories with other adventurers.
